Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human thoughts processes by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition, and machine vision.

Lack of ability to generalize from one task to another. This has helped fuel an explosion in efficiency and opened the door to entirely new business opportunities for some larger enterprises. Before the current wave of AI, it would have been hard to imagine using computer software to connect riders to taxis, but today Uber has become one of the largest companies in the world by doing just that. It utilizes sophisticated machine learning algorithms to predict when people are likely to need rides in certain areas, which helps proactively get drivers on the road before they’re needed. As another example, Google has become one of the largest players in a range of online services by using machine learning to understand how people use their services and then improve them.
Reactive AI
The most basic type of unhuman intelligence is unsupervised AI, which is programmed to provide a predictable output based on the input it receives. Reactive machines always respond to identical situations, in the same way, every time, and they are not able to learn actions or conceive of the past or future.

Limited Memory AI
Limited memory AI learns from the past and builds experiential knowledge by observing actions or data. This type of AI uses historical, observational data in combination with pre-programmed information to make predictions and perform complex classification tasks. It is the most widely-used kind of AI today.
Theory of Mind AI

Self-aware AI
The most advanced type of artificial intelligence is self-aware AI. Machines can be aware of their own emotions, as well as the emotions of others around them, they will have a level of consciousness and intelligence similar to human beings. This type of AI will have desires, needs, and emotions as well.
