India prevailed over Sri Lanka by two runs in their first T20 International to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series in Mumbai on Tuesday. Sent into bat, India scored 162 for five at the Wankhede Stadium, reaching the total after being in a spot of bother at one stage of their innings.
India secured a thrilling two-run win against Sri Lanka in the first T20I to go 1-0 up in the three-match series. Chasing 163, the Sri Lankan innings got folded in the final ball of the match as they reached 160 in 20 overs.
Shivam Mavi, who made his India debut, had a sharp outing with the ball. The pacer scalped four wickets and conceded just 22 runs in his four-over quota. Umran Malik and Harshal Patel scalped two wickets each.

In reply, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 160 in 20 overs with young Mavi taking four wickets. Mavi returned figures of 4 for 22 and was well supported by his fellow pacers Umran Malik (2 for 27) and Harshal Patel (2 for 41).
